About Ray Tools, LLC

Ray Tools, LLC, founded in 2005, provides innovative tools to the electrical industry.
"Ray Tools will provide the best tools and the best service with the utmost integrity," explained Brian Ray, president and founder of the company. "I am excited to be in position to provide great products at prices the everyday electrician can afford."

As the inventor of Greenlee's Lil' Tugger®, Brian Ray partnered with Greenlee to successfully bring his design to market. More recently, in partnership with Maxis, Mr. Ray led the development of an international distribution network through which to sell the Pull-It 3000®, another of his inventions. With a knack for practical innovation, combined with more than 20 years experience as an independent electrical contractor, Mr. Ray understands his customers and is well-positioned to provide them with high performance tools and the highest level of service.

Background of Brian Ray, President

By age 10, Ray Tools founder, Brian Ray, already had a knack for innovation. Determined to understand how a lock works, he cut open a padlock and quickly figured out the mechanics. Soon he was picking locks with a needle and bobby pin (for amusement only). With this talent mastered, and an impeccable reputation for honesty, Ray's high school coach later asked him to figure out the combinations of several abandoned padlocks. In one evening he picked the locks, wrote the combinations on a piece of tape, and returned the locks for use in the locker room. As a boy scout, Ray developed his own digital compass before retailers had begun selling them.

An electrical contractor for more than 20 years, Ray developed a reputation for finishing his jobs on time, every time, no excuses. On one occasion his crew had three guys pulling cable and two others feeding it. "This is ridiculous," Ray thought. He grabbed a drill and an 18 inch bit, slid a piece of PVC over the chuck, wrapped the rope around the PVC and began pulling wire with the improvised contraption. It worked great and the light-weight wire puller was born. Variations of Ray's wire puller invention are now sold by several electrical tool companies.

Ray Tools recently announced its entry into the market as a provider of quality tools to the electrical industry. The company's initial product line features the industry's most versatile and capable light-weight cable puller as well as a variety of electrical tools including wire carts, ratcheting cable cutters, hydraulic cable cutters, testers, hand tools, and drill bits.

What is on the horizon? A new breed of tool company has entered the field. Ray's aim is to provide the best tools and best service to electricians and distributors. The company has already introduced the KO Buddy, an adapter to convert all existing knockout sets to self-centering knockout sets. And Ray has many other tool innovations in the pipeline. He is constantly thinking out-of-the-box to provide solutions for electricians, to find a better way to achieve a desired result.

"Keep going! Keep coming up with new ideas!" several electricians told Ray at a recent trade show. And Ray is happy to oblige. Ray Tools will deliver new solutions through innovative tools and first class service.
